I just ordered my first e-cigarette, from Red Dragon. From the posts I’ve seen on various sites, they say a cartridge will last for about 20 cigarettes worth. My question: if you want the cartridge to last you all day and you were a pack-a-day smoker, how do you know what the equivalent of one cigarette is? Minutes smoking? The buzz you get? Just curious…

I found this link a few days on answers.yahoo.com. This site really have lots of information about the cure of common ailments
Hate to burst your bubble but – The cartridge will NOT last 20 cigs worth. MAYBE 5 before you’ll have to change or refill it.
You can expect to use the e-cig much more than you smoked. Part of it is the “new toy syndrome” – you’ll just want to check it out, play with it, try different things, etc. If you wan to avoid that, then just use the e-cig at those time you would normally have smoked a real cig. If you feel withdrawl symptoms, then you have 2 choices- use it more often or increase the nic level you are using. Pretty much its up to you. There is a learning curve with these. Just take your time and use it whenever. It took me about 2 weeks of playing with the thing before I realized that that last pack of cigs was over a week old. I just went for the e-cig more and more instead of the real ones. Then I just didn’t buy anymore cigarettes. After 36 years of smoking – I NEVER believed something could be so easy!
Best advice I got was to check out some videos on you tube and read up on some forums for info and feedback from people who are experienced with the e-cig and don’t sell them. So your info is unbiased.
I found vapersforum.com and e-cigarette-forum.com to be extremely helpful in the learning process.
Good Luck and Happy Vaping!
Hi H20skier – There really isn’t a perfect answer for this but this may help. Information is different from the various ecig companies because each company is different and depends how you smoke.
As an average 12 -15 puffs from an electric cigarette is about equivalent to 1 cigarette. 1 cartridge is about 1.5 to 1.75 packs of cigarettes. Comes sold usually in 5 pack cartridges which is almost a carton of cigarettes.
I would suggest you keep 2 batteries ready to last a full day for a pack a day smoker. You may find yourself smoking a little more to get adjusted to your new vaping habit. I assume you would have to vape a whole lot to get a nicotine buzz??? Good Luck and Congratulations on making the switch !!
