An electronic cigarette does not make smoke. There is no burning of tobacco or any other substance so there is in turn no smoke.

Electronic cigarettes actually give off water vapor. The solution in the e-liquid contains Nicotine, Flavoring, and Propylene Glycol.

The Propylene Glycol is what produces the vapor. It is a substance that is approved by the FDA and is used in various cosmetics and food products (cake mix, baby food, etc…).

Propylene Glycol is also the substance used in fog machines. You know the kind you see used in concerts, dances, plays, etc….

So in essence an electronic cigarette user is not breathing out smoke. They are breathing out water vapor that is given off by the Propylene Glycol.

Hope that answered your question :)
