Should I worry about my electronic cigarette blowing up in my face?

I mean, the devices are atomizers and batteries that you put in your mouth. I saw a thread online of a man who had one blow up in his face, he lost his front teeth and broke his jaw in two places. They said his batteries were “unprotected”. Should I be worried, my friends and my mother are using these!

  1. Where did you see this thread? I’d like to read it … I wonder if the person put his own home-made smoke juice into the cartridge.

  2. The guy was using unprotected cr123 Lithium Ion batteries in a mod. When the batteries overheated, he kept using it instead of taking proper precautions. Basically, he was an idiot and you can’t fix that. He knew the risk and was dumb enough to recognize they were over heating and kept using the mod anyway. It was the unprotected batteries + stupidity that caused his injuries and he admits that.

Stock batteries in e-cigs have protected circuits and will not do that. When those batteries go, then just don’t work anymore. No fire or theatrics they just die. If you use a mod, use protected batteries and no worries.

  3. Unless you have modified it like the man you mentioned, no, you dont have to worry.

  4. Use the product as per manufacturer’s recommendations only. These companies do not want to get axx’s sued so they have these safeguards so they won’t be in the court systems.
