I just received mine in the mail today. I have the intelicig evo. It seems like real smoking to me. I still have a half pack of real cigarettes left and seem to prefer them over it, but I think that I could get use to it. It is kind of like a veggie burger compare to a real burger. What is your experience with e smoking…do you think it is healthier?

I came up with the veggie burger comparison, too.
From my blog:
So, the most important question of all. Will using an electronic cigarette help you quit smoking?
I wish I could say that we will all be successful in this endeavor. But, the truth is, it is up to the individual. You have to be ready to quit. You have to be willing to sacrifice a little. You have to be open to a new experience. For me, the electronic cigarette was the closest thing I was going to get to actually smoking. Now I just needed to work with what I was given.
Here is my analogy. It is like “veggie burgers”. Whenever the subject of veggie burgers comes up someone will always say, “It doesn’t even taste like a real hamburger.” To which I reply, “Neither does chicken, potatoes, steak or anything else.” Because they are shaped like hamburgers, are served on a bun with ketchup, mustard and mayo just like a hamburger and are in the “burger” section of the menu, some people expect it to be exactly like a real hamburger.
Instead, if it was looked at more realistically, as a healthy alternative that may be slightly different but will fill you up, taste pretty good and add years to your life, the differences seem minor and pretty easy to overcome.
I think the success of a Electronic Cigarette customer depends on two things. 1) Education by the company and the seller. Being honest about these differences will lead to more success. And 2) The willingness of the customer to accept the changes to achieve their long term goal. For me, I was very ready to quit. I knew in the first day I was going to be able to handle the differences. I have not touched a “regular” cigarette since my starter kit showed up.
I got one about 3 months ago, and yeah, it was wierd for the first week or so. I’d supplement my E-Cig with a couple analogs a day… but after the week went by, it was just more convenient to not have to light up a whole cigarette. That’s probably what I enjoy most about the E-Cig, you don’t have to smoke an entire cigarettes worth before stopping. Just a couple puffs here, couple puffs there… It’s all good :)
Do I think it’s healthier? Absolutely. Is it 100% safe? No one knows. The glycol they use in them, is approved as safe on the FDA website. It’s ironic they have a class action lawsuit against the E-Cig companies… My opinion is all the propaganda regarding the safety of them, is just fluff spewed out from big tobacco, trying to resist this movement. Think of all the tax dollars the government will lose as well, if everyone switched to digital.
It’s a money game. Between you and me, I think they are perfectly safe. Nicotine is not a carcinogen, and neither is the glycol and flavors. That’s all that is contained in the liquid to fill the carts… so yes, I absolutely think they are safe AND healthier. If anything, you’re getting rid of 100′s of carcinogens that are found in regular cigarettes…… that has to be healthier, right? :)
